The Taguig city government has suspended the use of Sinovac vaccines on Monday “until further notice” because a Certificate of Analysis (COA) has yet to be released for the Sinovac vaccines currently in their cold chain facility.

Mayor Edgardo Cayetano, however, assured that those who have not been vaccinated but are scheduled for June 28 vaccination will be prioritized and scheduled at the soonest available time.

The Department of Health has informed the Taguig Vaccination Task Force (TVTF) that the Certificate of Analysis for the delivered Sinovac doses has not yet been released.

“In accordance with the ethical standards of the Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) Regulation of the Food and Drug Administration, any Covid -19 vaccine should have a COA as part of the quality assurance and safety prior to its use,” said Atty. Lyle Pasco, chairperson of the TVTF in a memorandum. It was also stated that the vaccination has been temporarily suspended at 12 noon of July 28.

Meanwhile, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that COA
usually comes in later after the vaccines are delivered.

“For the June 24 deliveries of Sinovac we have COA scheduled to be issued by the manufacturers from today (June 28) until the 30th of June, based on the batch and lot numbers of the vaccines,” Vergeire said.

“Taguig will resume vaccination as soon as COA has been issued,” the DOH official assured.
