The Department of Trade and Industry – Surigao del Norte, through Negosyo Center Claver, in partnership with Taganito Mining Corporation (TMC) and the Provincial Agriculture Office, conducted a three-day skills training on pineapple processing in Taganito, Claver.
The training was attended by 18 potential entrepreneurs from TMC-assisted POs, namely: CAFSPIA, SIFAS, DAPJA, and ALINDAHAW.
On the first day, Ms. Nestle Ann Joy P. Najial discussed entrepreneurship, while Ms. Maricel J. Maturan provided training on post-harvest and proper handling techniques.
The purpose of the training was to help MSMEs produce high-quality processed pineapple products that are in demand. The training aimed to make use of abundant pineapple fruits as raw materials in food processing and contribute to the growth of the pineapple industry.
