Surigao: Simultaneous police ops in Agusan del Norte net 21 law violators; 16 NPA rebels surrender

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ———— At least 21 individuals were arrested and 16 communist terrorist group members voluntarily surrendered during simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operations (SACLEO) in the province of Agusan del Norte yesterday, (May 20).

POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT, JR, Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 Director, said a total of 72 operations were conducted by the operatives of Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (ADNPPO) against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, loose firearms, illegal fishing and service of warrants against several wanted persons.

Records from the Regional Operations Division 13 revealed that Agusan del Norte Provincial Police Office (ADNPPO) arrested one most wanted person and 16 other wanted persons; one violator on illegal gambling, while two were apprehended against illegal fishing and confiscation of eight sachets of suspected shabu with estimated weight of 3.5 grams with Street Drug Value of Php23,800 in Brgy. 7, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte which resulted in the arrest of one suspect.

The most wanted person was identified as Noel Del Poldo Makiling, 39 years old, a resident of Casisiman Balite, Brgy. Bit-os, Butuan City. He was apprehended by the Regional Intelligence Unit 13 (RIU13), Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Intelligence Unit (ADN PIU), Bayugan City Police Station (CPS) and Buenavista Municipal Police Station (MPS) for the crime of Murder based on alias Warrant of arrest issued by Acting Executive Judge, Regional Trial Court, Branch 7, Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur under criminal case no. 4066 with no bail bond recommended.

Makiling was the suspect in killing of Eliezer M Padilla, on September 28, 2013 inside music bar in Brgy.Taglatawan,Bayugan,Agusan del Sur.

“The overwhelming success of the recently concluded SACLEO is attributed to the strong commitment and determination of every Caraga police in serving and protecting the country and the people,” CARAMAT JR said.

He also assured the residents of Caraga Region that operations against criminals and law violators and the accounting of loose firearms in the region will continue.
