Odette-affected families with totally damaged houses in Caraga Region started receiving the Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) last November 11, from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga.
710 beneficiaries from Burgos, Surigao Del Norte (Siargao Island) received Php 10,000 as assistance for their totally damaged houses.
There are also ESA payouts conducted today in Bayugan City and Sibagat, Agusan Del Sur, and yesterday was in Cabadbaran City, Agusan Del Norte. ESA payouts will continue to be distributed next week for the remaining municipalities with reported totally damaged houses.
It is important to note that for those beneficiaries who have received, or who will be receiving Php5,000 assistance from the National Housing Authority, will only receive half of the allotted amount of ESA, which is Php 5,000.
