Shooting incident transpired at Purok 3, Brgy. Dumalian, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur at about 7:50 AM, October 29, 2020. The victim was identified as Junifer Manlawi Datoy, 24 years old, male, single, farmer, and a resident of abovementioned place, who was shot to death by unidentified suspect using undetermined caliber of firearm.
Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim was planting a corn on his cornfield situated at the abovementioned place when two unidentified suspects appeared and approached the victim and shot him several times hitting the different parts of his body resulted to his instantaneous death.
San Miguel Municipal Police Station were able to recover from the crime scene two fired cartridge cases of shotgun; two fired cartridge cases of caliber .45 pistol; and two fired slugs of same caliber which will be turned over to Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for proper disposition.
San Miguel Municipal Police Station is now conducting deeper investigation in order to determine the motive of the incident and to identify the identities of suspects.
