Vehicular accident transpired at Purok Malipayon, Brgy. Taway, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay Province at about 8:50 PM of November 28, 2020 involving vehicle described as Motorcycle 1 (MC1) – Euro Keeway RK 150, with temporary plate number, color black driven by Johnbert Libetario Vega, 25 years old, single, resident of Palomoc, Titay, and Motorcycle 2 (MC2) – Honda wave R 100, color combination black/red, with plate number ja32483, driven by Eugene Leonor Balatayo, 37 years old, married, resident of Poblacion, Titay.
Investigation disclosed that MC1 was engaged in a road race with other motorcycle traversing towards Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay and upon reaching at the place of accident, MC1 abruptly overtook one parked jeepney, unfortunately while on the process it hit the front left portion of the jeep. As a result, MC1 was thrown towards the approaching MC2.
Thereat, both drivers incurred injuries on different part of their bodies, driver of MC-2 was brought to Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Hospital at Sanito, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay while driver of MC1 was brought to Dr. De Villa Hospital at Poblacion, Ipil, however, at around 9:06 PM of same date driver of MC1 was pronounced dead on arrival by his attending physician Dr. Van Mich Louie Cruz, due to internal hemorrhage.
Both motorcycles were brought to Ipil MPS for proper disposition.
