The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) already started its Step 2 for the registration for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) last July 12, 2021.
Condrad Sontillano, PSA 9, Chief Statistical specialist said, the step 2 will be done for those registered via house to house conducted last January 18 to April by the office in selected barangays in the City.
During that period, 214,246 were registered. These represents the low-income households in the City and those with poor internet connection.
For the Step 1, name sex, date and place of birth, blood type, address, Filipino or alien, marital status, and email address will be asked. For Step 2, photos, iris scan, and fingerprints will be taken.
Areas where Step 2 can be done are SM Mindpro, PSA Office, Arena Blanco Day Care Center, Labuan Multipurpose Hall, and Lumbangan Barangay Hall. Biometrics will be taken from ages 15 and above.
The final Step, Step 3 is the issuance of PhilSys number and Identification Cards.
Others may now register via register.philsys.gov.ph and wait for your appointment for step 2 by September.
Republic Act 11055 known as the Philippine Identification System Act. It is an act establishing a single national identification system that aims to provide to provide a valid proof of identity for Filipino Citizens.
This was signed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte last August 6, 2018.
