Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 Police Community Relations (PCR) month-long festivity with the theme “Pulisya at Pamayanan, BARANGAYanihan sa Hamon ng Pandemya at Laban sa Krimen” culmination highlighted the awarding of honors to Police Commissioned and Non-Commissioned Officers, police units and civilian awardees that immensely contributed and supported the conduct of various PCR activities in the different parts of the region here last Friday, July 30.
Agusan del Sur Governor Honorable Santiago Barriga Cane, Jr., graced the culmination program as the guest of honor and speaker.
In his message, Governor Cane Jr emphasized the importance of the police and community partnership in upholding the rule of law and in maintaining peaceful and orderly communities.
PRO13 Regional Director POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT JR together with the command group and Atty. Maximo T. Lasaca I, Regional Director of NAPOLCOM 13 assisted Governor Cane in giving awards to outstanding individuals and police units.
The following units that received awards were Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) as Outstanding PPO; San Francisco Municipal Police Station (MPS) as Outstanding MPS; and RMFB 13 as Outstanding Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
Police Senior Master Sergeant Maricar C Asis of Bislig City Police Station and Police Staff Sergeant Laurelyn O Rufin of San Miguel MPS both in Surigao del Sur PPO were awarded outstanding Police Community Affairs Development (PCAD) Police Non-Commissioned Officers.
Plaques of Recognition were given to advocacy groups who extend their hands in the BARANGAYanihan activities in the region: Astrud A. Eustaquio, Area Manager of Unilever Phils. Inc; Ricardo Dela Cerna- Proprietor of Damac Construction; Eagle Allan B. Japor from The Fraternal Order of Eagles; Engr. Anilo C. Milaor from Cagdianao Mining Corporation; and Jonathan A. Bañas from PERA MPC from Agusan del Sur province.
Personnel of Regional Community Affairs Development Division (RCADD) who were also awarded were PLTCOL MARIFE FAROL, Chief of Family Juvenile Gender and Development and Chief of Community Affairs Section; PCPT Felomino J Muñoz Jr., Chief Public Information Section and PMSg Ariza Marco, Salaam PNCO for obtaining RCADD 13 the 100% rating and rank number one nationwide in the Unit Performance Rating for the month of June 2021.
Likewise, following winners in the Sining Bayanihan competition participated by Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) members were awarded: Janine Catalla Lauro in Performing Arts category; KKDAT Butuan City Chapter in the Interpretative Dance category; Charlie Sagaad in Visual Arts category; Aubrey Lusica in Spoken Poetry category; KKDAT Agusan del Sur Chapter in Short Film category; and special awards were given to Lorie Mae Vidal as Best Actress, Leah Ellen Yaoyao in Best Screenplay and Cinematography and Vanessa Marie Yaoyao as Best Director.
Governor Cane lauded the awardees for demonstrating valuable commitment in the delivery of service to the people, as their earned awards gives the essence of public service and similarly acclaimed the leadership of POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT, JR whose performance above par has been fully recognized by the leaders in this region.
