₱5,075,000.00 Worth of Smuggled Cigarettes Seized in the Sea of Sta. Cruz Island

Joint elements of 2nd Zamboanga City Mobile Force Company together with personnel of Bureau of Customs, Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) and Enforcement and Security Service (ESS) intercepted a seacraft loaded with alleged smuggled cigarettes at about 3:00 AM of June 19, 2021 in the South-west of Sta. Cruz Island, Zamboanga City. The intercepted seacraft is a green motorized wooden watercraft “Jungkong” with body marked MJ “Al-Hafidz”, owned and driven by Nurullaji Alhari, legal age with crew members namely: Annie Jammang, 27 years old, Matli Hajirin, 36 years old, Jamar Alhari, 27 years old, Mahadel Munong, 31 years old, Abdulhalik Mangkabong, 50 years old and Sakur Jarani, all are residents of Omar, Sulu. The Jungkong was loaded with a total number of one hundred forty five (145) master cases which includes: forty (40) cases of Champion black, fifteen (15) cases of Fort white, thirty (30) cases of Delta white, ten (10) cases of Astro red and fifty (50) cases of eight red amounting to an estimated value of five million seventy five thousand pesos (₱ 5,075,000.00). All confiscated items and crew members were properly turned over to BOC for proper disposition.

Murder Suspect Neutralized in a Police Operation in Katipunan

Katipunan Municipal Police Station conducted law enforcement operation through service of warrant of arrest at Purok 4, Barangay Sanao, Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte at about 8:00 AM of June 19, 2021. The operation resulted in the neutralization of Alex Ano-an Saloma “Amay” 27 years old, single and a resident of Sitio Sibayog, Barangay Singatong, Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte. The operation was made by virtue of warrants of arrest for the crime of Murder docketed under criminal case numbers 24627 and 24628 issued by Jose Rene Gallemit Dondoyano Presiding Judge, Branch 6, Dipolog City dated February 23, 2021 without bail recommended and for the crime of Attempted Murder docketed under Criminal Case No. 24686 issued by Hon. Victoriano D Lacaya, Presiding Judge, Branch 9, Dipolog City, dated March 17, 2021, with a recommended bailbond amounting to one hundred twenty thousand pesos (₱ 120,000.00). Upon serving the warrant, Alex Ano-an Saloma resisted, went out from the house, holding a grenade and a homemade shotgun then shot towards PCpl Reyzalde Malayo and PCpl Rodjustice R. Villalba causing PCpl Villalba gunshot wound on his body while PCpl Malayo managed to roll when he sensed that his life was in great danger causing him to suffer a bone fracture. The other operating personnel retaliated and opened fire causing the subject to fall down to the uneven ground triggering the grenade to explode. The EOD team and SOCO went to the area while PCpl Villalba and PCpl Malayo were brought to Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center for treatment. The suspect’s cadaver was brought to Rubio Funeral Home for proper disposition.

Stabbing Incident

A stabbing incident transpired at Purok Alibangbang, Barangay Santo Niño, Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur at 9:30 AM of June 19, 2021. Victims were identified as Eljay Contenido Redolusa, 23 years old, male, and a resident of Barangay Rebukon, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur and Rekwen Jimeno Cabalida, 20 years old, male, and a resident of Purok Lacturan, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur while suspect was identified as Arnel Bendanillo Lobo, 38 years old, male, married, and a resident of Barangay Motosawa, Dumalinao, Zamboanga Del Sur. Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, while the victims and the suspect were sleeping at the fishing boat (Tapay-tapay), the suspect woke up, took a knife hidden from his backpack and without apparent reason, stabbed the victims while they were sleeping hitting their chest and armpit areas. Victims were rushed to nearest hospital for immediate medical attention while the suspect was arrested by the responding PNP personnel and was subsequently brought to Tukuran Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.

₱70,720.00 Worth of Suspected Shabu Seized from a Drug Suspect in a Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Pasobolong

Station Drug Enforcement Team of Zamboanga City Police Station 7 conducted drug buy-bust operation at Bypass Road Superhighway, Barangay Pasobolong, Zamboanga City at about 11:00 PM of June 19, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Ruben Sangalang y Maludin aka “Baduk”, 25 years old, male, single, jobless, high school graduate, a resident of Barangay Culianan, Zamboanga City. Recovered during the operation were nine (9) sachets of suspected Shabu with an estimated value of ₱ 70,720.00 with an estimated weight of 10.4 gram/s and one (1) bill of ₱ 500.00 as marked money. He is now under the custody of the said police station in preparation of filing of appropriate charges in court. All recovered items will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Laboratory Office for examination.

Man Arrested in a Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Baliguian

Municipal Drug Enforcement Team of Baliguian Municipal Police Station (MPS) together with personnel of Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, 905th Maneuver Company and 2nd Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted drug buy-bust operation at Block 1, Barangay Poblacion, Baliguian Zamboanga del Norte at 12:30 PM of June 19, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest Asbi Suba Singkay, 33 years old, married, farmer, high school graduate and a resident of Sitio Dawa, Barangay Kauswagan, Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte. Confiscated during the operation were: one (1) piece small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline granules believed to be “Shabu” (Buy Bust Evidence); three (3) pieces small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline granules believed to be “Shabu” (Possession); one (1) piece disposable lighter; three (3) pieces rolled aluminum tin foil; one (1) piece five hundred (₱ 500.00) peso bill (recovered buy bust money); one (1) Swiss knife. Estimated weight of confiscated illegal drugs is 3.5 grams with an estimated street value of twenty-three thousand eight hundred (₱ 23,800.00) pesos. A case for violation of R.A. 9165 was being readied against the suspect. That said accused is currently under the custody of Baliguian MPS for proper disposition.

Hacking Incident

A hacking incident transpired at Barangay Candelaria, Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte at 8:55 PM of June 19, 2021 involving Joshua Sayre Dela Torre, 19 years old, tractor operator and a resident of Barangay Dela Paz, Liloy Zamboanga del Norte; Reynorio Gom-os Catugal, 61 years old, farmer; and Remegio Manosa Dolotallas, 69 years old, married, carpenter, both are residents of the said place. Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the three personalities were having a drinking session at the store of Remegio. Later on, a heated argument ensued between Remegio and Joshua. Thereafter, Joshua asked permission to leave the group, when he came back, he was armed with Samurai, he then hacked Remegio, but luckily the latter evaded the attack. Thereafter, a commotion ensued between them. Joshua sustained laceration on his forehead and right arm while Reynorio sustained cut wound on his left leg. The wounded Joshua and Reynorio were brought by LDRRMC to Liloy Integrated Health District Hospital for treatment while Remegio is currently under the custody of Liloy Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
