₱8,000,000.00 Worth of Alleged Smuggled Cigarettes Seized in Divisoria

PNP personnel of Zamboanga City Police Station 5 together with the Tasked Force Zamboanga (TFZ) assigned at the fixed checkpoint located at Barangay Divisoria, Zamboanga City at 2:15 AM of July 27, 2021 flagged down one (1) eight wheeler truck FUSO with plate number CAY 8647 containing boxes of alleged smuggled cigarettes and empty blue plastic drums driven by Jereel Hofelina y Morales, 41years old, male, separated and a resident of Barangay Talisayan, Zamboanga City together with his truckman Alnasher Arraji y Sakkam, 36 years old, male, married and a resident of Barangay San Roque, Zamboanga City. Said driver and his truckman were asked by personnel  of Zamboanga City Police Station 5 for pertinent documents but failed to show any to support their claims. Upon inventory, said alleged smuggled cigarettes and empty drums were as follows: 30 Empty Blue Plastic Drums, 190 Boxes New Berlin Cigarettes, 225 Boxes Fort Cigarettes, 24 Boxes Cannon cigarettes with a total of 439 boxes and with estimated market value amounting to more or less ₱ 8,000,000.00. Further, said Eight Wheeler Truck FUSO. Suspects and confiscated items are presently under the custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 5 for proper disposition.

Shooting Incident

A shooting incident transpired at Purok Bayabas, Barangay Ali Alsree, RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay at 10:50 PM of July 26, 2021. Victims were identified as Dennis Ricaborda Coraza, 35 years old, single, businessman and a resident of Purok Bayabas, Barangay Ali Alsree, RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay and Patricia Ricaborda Coraza, 66 years old, married, jobless and a resident of the same place. They were allegedly shot by unidentified suspect/s. Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, while the victims were sleeping in their house, unidentified suspect/s smashed the wall of their house and shot the victims using an unidentified caliber of pistol. After which, the suspect fled the scene towards unknown direction, victims incurred gunshot wounds in their stomach and were rushed to Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Hospital. PNP personnel of RT Lim Municipal Police Station are now conducting follow-up operation for the arrest of the suspect.

Shooting Incident

A shooting incident transpired along the highway of Barangay Recodo, Zamboanga City at 5:40 PM of July 26, 2021 near the boundary of Barangay Ayala. Victim was identified as Zosimo Batoy y Espinosa, male, married, 55 years old, Manager of Universal Fishing and a resident Dacon Homes, Barangay Recodo, Zamboanga City he was shot by unidentified suspect/s. Investigation disclosed that at 5:40 PM of same date, victim was on board his Nissan Navarra which was parked alongside of the road in front of his store when unidentified suspect/s appeared and without apparent reason, shot the victim trice hitting the different parts of his body. After the incident, suspect/s fled towards west coast on board a motorcycle while victim was rushed to Brent hospital for medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival by the attending Physician. During ocular inspection, recovered on the crime scene were three (3) empty fired cartridges of Caliber 45.

Farmer Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Aurora

PNP personnel of Aurora Municipal Police Station conducted drug buy- bust operation at Purok La Joma, Barangay San Jose, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur at 10:45 AM of July 26, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Ariel Priolo y Arnigo aka “Timot”, 18 years old, single, farmer and a resident of Barangay Anonang, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur. Confiscated during the operation were one piece small size heat sealed transparent sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be Shabu (fruit of buy-bust), one piece rectangular type heat sealed transparent sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be Shabu (possession), and one piece of five hundred pesos (₱ 500.00) as marked money. Confiscated substance believed to be Shabu has estimated weight of .05 grams and has standard drug price of three hundred forty pesos (₱ 340. 00). He is now under the custody of Aurora Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.

Man Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Kasanyangan

Station Drug Enforcement Team of Zamboanga City Police Station 5 conducted buy-bust operation on illegal drugs at Phase 1 Asinan, Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City at 1:30 PM of July 26, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Imran Sulayman y Tawasil a.k.a “Labo”, 19 years old, male, single, jobless, highschool level, of Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City. Confiscated from his possession were Six (6) sachets of suspected Shabu with a standard drug price of P13,600.00 weighing 2 grams and three (3) bills of P100.00 as marked money. He is now under the custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 5 in preparation for filing of appropriate charges in court. All recovered items will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Laboratory Office for examination.

Man Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Kasanyangan

PNP personnel of Zamboanga City Drug Enforcement Unit together with Zamboanga City Police Station 11 conducted anti-illegal drugs operation at Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City at about 9:00 PM of July 26, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Sulaiman Goena y Jahuran a.k.a. “Sulaiman”, 42 years old, male, married, jobless, no educational attainment, and a resident of Phase 1, Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City. Recovered during the operation were six (6) sachets of suspected Shabu with a standard drug price of ₱ 6, 800.00 pesos weighing 1 gram, one (1) coin purse and one (1) bill of ₱ 200.00 as marked money. He is now under the custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 in preparation of filing of appropriate charges in court. All recovered sachets of suspected shabu will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Laboratory Office for examination.
