Shooting Incident
Shooting Incident transpired at along the National Highway, Purok Tinangkong 1, Barangay Balintawak, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at 5:25 PM of January 11, 2021. The victim was identified as Abdulsamad Hasan Acang, 43 years old, male, married, Businessman and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Pang-Pang, Lapuyan, Zamboanga Del Sur, who was shot by unidentified motor riding suspects. Investigation disclosed that the victim together with his wife on board a Red Bajaj Tri-wheeler (Bao-Bao) while traversing at the place of incident suspects waylaid from behind and without any provocation shot the victim several times with the use of a Caliber 45 pistols. The victim sustained six gunshot wounds at different parts of his body that resulted in his instantaneous death. The suspect fled the scene after the incident. The motive of the incident is believed to be a family feud (Redo) accordingly. Recovered from the crime scene are four pieces of fired cartridge cases of Caliber 45 and one fired Bullet of the same Caliber. The cadaver of the victim was brought by his family to Barangay Dalapang, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur for immediate internment as part of the Muslim tradition. PNP Personnel of Pagadian City Police Station conducted a follow-up investigation for the possible arrest of the suspects.
Shooting Incident
Shooting incident transpired along Brgy Maasin highway, Zamboanga City at 8:00 PM of January 11, 2021. Victims were identified as Wilfrido V. Montuno, 54 years old, male, resident of Zone 2, Brgy Cawit, Zamboanga City and Jose M. Buhat, male, legal age, resident of Recodo, Zamboanga City, who were seen lying in a prone position along the road and bathed with their own blood. Initial investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident; victims were on their way home to Brgy Cawit onboard a single MC Kawasaki Bajaj color black without plate number. While the suspect/s were allegedly on board a MC XRM black and tailing the both victims and upon reaching the place of incident, suspect/s fired several gunshots which caused the instantaneous death of both victims. Victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds while the suspect/s fled to the direction of City proper after the commission of crime. Zamboanga City Police Station 8 requested the assistance from SOCO to process the crime scene and recovered from the crime scene were Six (6) empty shells and one (1) slug from an alleged 9mm Pistol. Hot pursuit operation is still ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspect/s.
Suicide Incident
Suicide Incident transpired at Purok 3, Barangay Talisayan, Zamboanga City at 6:00 PM of January 11, 2021. The victim was identified as Joel Apolinario Ibañez, 27 years old, male, single and a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Talisayan, Zamboanga City, who was seen by his mother hanging inside a room using a Nylon Rope on his neck against the “purling” of their house. Investigation conducted revealed that said victim is a graduate of Marine Engineering as he has been applying for work several times; he was not able to start one because of the Pandemic. The victim left a Suicide Note stating that he is “A shame and encumbrance to the family” and was so disappointed on his life. Thereafter, at about 4:30 PM of January 11, 2021 the mother of the victim noticed her son was hanging lifeless on the purling using a Nylon Rope tied on his. Further, said victim’s is presently at St. Peter Funeral Homes for proper disposition.
Rape Suspect Captured in Kumalarang
Police personnel of Kumalarang Municipal Police Station and El Salvador City Police Station conducted joint law enforcement operation against wanted person at Barangay Poblacion, Kumalarang Zamboanga del Sur at 5:30 PM of January 11, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Richard Hamlig Bicoy, aka Andres, 33 years old, married, farmer and a resident of Purok 2, Brgy. Kita-an Dagat, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur, by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Rape in relation to RA 7610 with Criminal Case No. R-CDO-20-03517-CR issued by Hon. Evelyn J Gamotin-Nery, Presiding Judge, Branch 19, Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Cagayan de Oro City dated September 29, 2020 with no bail recommended. Arrested person was brought at Kumalarang MPS for documentation and subsequently turned over to PNP personnel of El Salvador City Police Station for proper disposition.
P350, 000.00 Shabu Siezed in Drug Sting Operation
A female drug personality was arrested by operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 6 led by PMAJ Salvador E Galvez in an anti-illegal drugs operation at Laminusa St., Asinan, Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City at 11:05 AM of January 8, 2021. Arrested was Sharwina Hassan Jaji a.k.a. “Weng” a.k.a “Alwida Unaid Amirul” a.k.a “Jiana A Jimlan” a.k.a “Sharmina H Jaji”, 50 years old, female, and a resident of Laminusa St., Asinan, Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City. (Data Base Listed) Recovered from her possession were 16 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated DDB value of P350, 000.00 weighing more or less 51 grams, one pouch color red and two pcs of PHP100.00 bill as marked money. Subject person is now under the custody of said police station in preparation of filing of appropriate charges in court. All recovered items will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Lab Office.
Woman Held in Zamboanga City for Malversation of Public Funds
A 46-year old woman was arrested by police operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 led by PMAJ Elmer P Solon during the conduct of law enforcement operation against wanted person at Plaza Del Pilar, Barangay Zone-4, Zamboanga City at 1:40 PM of January 11, 2021. Arrested was identified as Ma. Jolly Lim Fabian, 46 years old, female, married and a resident of Barangay Cabatangan, Zamboanga City. She was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for Article 217 of RPC (Malversation of Public Funds) with Criminal Case number # 18094 issued and signed by Presiding Judge Hon Vera T Vergara, Branch 14, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Zamboanga City dated October 18, 2020 with bail bond recommended amounting to P80, 000.00. He is presently under said police station custody prior turn over to court concerned.
Fisherman Arrested for the Crime of Homicide
Police personnel of Dimataling Municipal Police Station led by PLT David A Pintado, OIC, conducted law enforcement operation against wanted person at Purok 7, Barangay Sumpot, Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur at 3:20 PM of January 11, 2021 that resulted in the arrest of Sherwin Maco Bartiana Sr, 34 years old, married, fisherman and a resident of Purok Tubo Tubo, Barangay Baganian, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Homicide with Criminal Case No. 15331-2K20 issued by Hon. Felix B Rodriguez, Presiding Judge, RTC 9th Judicial Region, Branch 18, Pagadian City dated December 18, 2020 with bail bond recommended to Php 40,000.00. He is now detained at Dimataling MPS for proper disposition.
3 Rape Suspects Arrested in Sibutad
PNP personnel of Sibutad Municipal Police Station together with CIDG, Zamboanga del Norte and 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted joint law enforcement operation against wanted person at Piñahon Beach, Sinipay Sibutad, Zamboanga del Norte at 10:30 AM of January 11, 2021. This resulted in the arrest of Eliezer Partosa Arombo, 31, male, single; Junrey Monding Cais, 30, male, single, both residents of Purok 1B, Sipaloc, Sibutad and Joebil Jugilon Tagapan, 30, male, single, a resident of Purok 1A, Sipaloc, Sibutad. They were arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Rape docketed under Criminal Case Nos., 24516, 24517, 24518 issued by Hon. Jose Rene G. Dondoyano, Presiding Judge, RTC 9, Branch 7 Dipolog City dated January 7, 2021 with no bail recommended. Arrested accused are now under the custody of Sibutad MPS for proper disposition.
High Value Individual Arrested in Dumalinao Anti-illegal Drug Operation
Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office – Drug Enforcement Unit led by PLT Vincent E Perez together with PNP elements of Dumalinao Municipal Police Station conducted joint law enforcement operation against wanted person at Purok Crossing, Brgy. Tina, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur at 10:55 AM of January 11, 2021. Arrested was Connie Louie Medina Paran (HVI), 26 years old, single, and a resident of Purok Crossing, Brgy. Tina, Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur. She was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for Violation of Sec. 5 and 11 of RA 9165 with Criminal Case Numbers 15332-2020 and 15333 2020 issued by Hon. Ivy Ferolino Damayo-Elviña, Presiding Judge, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 21, Pagadian City dated January 7, 2021 with no bail recommended. He is now detained at Dumalinao MPS for proper disposition.
2 Newly Identified Drug Personalities Nabbed in Anti-illegal Drugs Operation
Police operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 conducted a buy-bust operation at Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City at about 9:40 PM of January 11, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Kiram Tahil Aiyub, 31 years old male, single, and a resident of Brgy Sta. Catalina, Zamboanga City and Wahid Ahallol Sawaba, 48 years old, male, married, and a resident of brgy tetuan, zamboanga city. (Both newly identified). Recovered from their possession were 13 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated ddb value of ₱60,000.00 weighing more or less 8.8 grams, one coin purse and two bills of ₱100.00 as marked money. Subject persons are now under the custody of said police station in preparation of filing of appropriate charges in court. All recovered items will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Lab Office.
RA 8550 Violator Arrested in Naga
Police personnel of Naga Municipal Police Station conducted intelligence driven operation thru service of warrant of arrest at Purok 7, Barangay Kaliantana, Naga Zamboanga Sibugay at 8:30 AM of January 11, 2021. This resulted in the arrest of Abdulhan Indanan Abdilla, 33 years old, married, a resident of Purok 8, Barangay Kaliantana, Naga Zamboanga Sibugay. The arrest was made by Virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Violation of sec. 88 RA 8550 (An Act Providing for the Development, Management and Conservation of the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Integrating All Laws Pertinent Thereto, and for Other Purposes) docketed under Criminal Case # i-5141 issued by Hon Anthony D Isaw, Presiding Judge, Ninth Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court Of Zamboanga Sibugay, Branch 24, with bail recommended of Php20,000.00. He is now under the custody of Naga MPS for proper disposition.
Woman Held in Pagadian City for the Crime of Estafa
Police personnel of Pagadian City Police Station conducted law enforcement operation against wanted person at Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Tawagan, Pagadian City Zamboanga Del Sur at 10:00 AM of January 11, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Suzette Bagtoltol Monton, 47 years old, female, married, and a resident of Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Tawagan, Pagadian City. This is by Virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Estafa with Criminal Case Number 18573 issued by Hon Clyde G. Rodrique, Presiding Judge, Municipal Trial Court In Cities, Ninth Judicial Region, Branch 02, Pagadian City Dated January 5, 2021 with bail bond recommended to Php12,000.00. He is now detained at Pagadian CPS for proper disposition.
