Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – Police Regional Office (PRO)13 joined in the kick-off of the 26th Police Community Relations (PCR) month celebration which coincided with the Monday flag raising here early morning today, July 5.

PRO13 Top Cop Brigadier General ROMEO M. CARAMAT, Jr. spearheaded the activity with Atty. Maximo T. Lasaca I, Regional Director of NAPOLCOM Caraga as the guest of honor and speaker.

Anchored on the theme “Pulisya at Pamayanan, BARANGAYanihan sa Hamon ng Pandemya at Laban sa Krimen”, the event was attended by the members of the command group and regional staff, chiefs of the National Support Units, Provincial Director of Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office, and other unit commanders.

RD LASACA I underscored the importance of PCR in the promotion of peace and order, in the fight against criminality and insurgency, and in containing the threats posed by COVID-19.

Through the Regional Community Affairs Development Division, PRO13 has lined up activities and programs for the month-long celebration that is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 764 declaring July of every year as PCR month.

“The celebration will include different activities that highlight the importance of a solid partnership between the police and the community. We cannot succeed in policing works without the support and cooperation from the general public,” PRO13 Top Cop added.

Meanwhile, PNP Chief GENERAL GUILLERMO LORENZO T. ELEAZAR had earlier ordered police commanders on the ground to strengthen PCR citing the foiled attack in Bohol wherein the local residents tipped the police about the presence of Abu Sayyaf Group in 2017.

He also directed the PRO13 to be on full alert against possible attacks of New People’s Army terrorists and urged the public to help protect the communities. (PMaj. Dorothy M. Tumulak)
