Aside from PNP personnel assigned with the Regional Headquarters, present during the activity were residents and barangay officials of Brgy. The mangrove focal person of the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office – Nasipit, Elvira Lasco, discussed the proper way of planting mangrove seedlings during the briefing to ensure that the planted seedlings will survive.
CENRO-Nasipit expressed their gratitude to the men and women of PNP Caraga for having Brgy. Punta as an adopted barangay.
“We are targeting to plant around 4,000 seedlings in our adopted barangay for this month of March alone. So I expect every personnel assigned with the Regional Headquarters to plant at least ten seedlings to attain this month’s target. Likewise, all PNP units region-wide are also reminded to conduct the same and ensure attainment of set target,” PBGEN CARAMAT, JR. said.
Chief of the Philippine National Police, POLICE GENERAL DEBOLD M. SINAS, emphasized that aside from environmental protection and preservation, tree-planting activities also aim to foster strong police-community relations and to raise awareness among members of the community on how they can help save the environment.
