PNP Caraga Bags 302 Suspects In One-Day Simultaneous Ops Against Illegal Drugs, Wanted Persons, New People’s Army

Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City –  Police Regional Office (PRO)13 Director BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT JR. announced the apprehension of 302 suspects in the regionwide simultaneous law enforcement operations against illegal drugs, wanted persons, and the New People’s Army (NPA) yesterday, July 30.

During the implementation of search warrants and buy-bust operations, 32 personalities fell to the long arm of the law after they yielded 71.8grams of shabu and 38.08grams of marijuana having a total Dangerous Drug Board value of ₱ 849,334.40.

Police also collared 25 suspects for violation of RA No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition. The implementation of search warrants and other police operations led to the confiscation of 93 loose firearms.

On the same day, 237 comprised of 104 most wanted persons and 133 other individuals with standing warrants of arrested were accounted for.

In terms of the ongoing drive to end local communist armed conflict, PRO13 also captured eight NPA members who were sought by the law for various crimes while another 22 surrendered to the police units bringing 24 firearms of different calibers.

The operations were carried out with the support of the intelligence community, members of the courts pillar of the criminal justice system, and other stakeholders.

RD CARAMAT JR. lauded the efforts of the entire police force in Caraga for keeping the substantial gains in the performance of law enforcement functions and for ensuring the rights of all arrested persons.
