The Acting Station Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard in Surigao del Norte, LTJG Christian Robert Nieto, alongside Officer-In-Charge Roy Christopher Orillaneda of the PCG Maritime Training Command, and Deputy Commander Ensign Nica Joyce Eledia, met with Surigao City Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II to enhance maritime security and protect coral reefs in Surigao City.

They discussed adding more substations and outposts to boost maritime surveillance and security in the city.

Moreover, they are also planning to work together on coral reef re-transplantation along the City Boulevard.

This aligns with Mayor Paul Dumlao’s vision to safeguard these reefs and turn them into lasting attractions for the community. (Mark James Lisondra)
