President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said his speech for his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday is on the final stages of editing, not too long but must be complete.

He said the speech will be thoroughly reviewed until Sunday.

“Iyong kabuuan ng speech ko tapos na. Fine-tuning na lang gagawin. Aayusin namin lahat ‘yan hanggang Linggo para maging handa sa SONA sa Lunes (The speech as a whole is done, we are just doing some fine-tuning. We will finalize it until Sunday to be ready for the SONA on Monday),” he told the media on the sidelines of the distribution of assistance to farmers and fisherfolk here Friday.

Marcos said he wants to make sure everything he wants to discuss is in the speech, especially the accomplishments intended for all Filipinos.

“Ang problema, napakarami ng gusto kong pag-usapan baka napakahaba masyado kaya pina-prioritize na lang lahat (My worry is, I want to tackle everything but I don’t want it too long so priorities must be made),” he said.

He said heads of various departments will then discuss programs and plans after the SONA.

The annual SONA, held every afternoon on the 4th Monday of July, falls on July 22 this year.

In the morning, Congress will open the Third Regular Session of the 19th Congress.
