The Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Sur (PLGU ZamboSur) showcased its innovative community-managed cultural schools, known as the School of Living Tradition, at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. This historic event marked a significant milestone for the province, as it highlighted the rich Subanen heritage on the global stage.
Representing PLGU ZamboSur, Governor Victor J. Yu, said the School of Living Tradition reflects a strong commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of the Subanen people as it not only protect history but also empower indigenous communities by passing on their heritage through education.
