DOST-PCARD Director Dr. Adelaida Calpe together with Dr. Quinitio (Crab expert from SEAFDEC), Dr. Estepa (Crab expert from SEAFDEC), Dr. Pates (Faculty, MSU-IIT), Ms. Tandang (ISP Crab Manager), and staff members from MSU-IIT recently paid a courtesy visit to Governor Victor J. Yu.
The purpose of the visit is to discuss collaborative research on how to sustain the hatchery operation of king crab in the Province.
They also visited Dimasangca fishpond at Labangan for further study of the hatchery.
At present the Blue Warriors are conducting the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point at the nursery Phase as a menu to strengthen the hatchery phase and redesign the pond system.
The visiting Team of DOST PCARD with MSU-IIT Marine Science Dept and former SEAFDEC Scientist will support the vision of Gov. Victor J. Yu that Dimasangka, Labangan will become the Capital Breeders Farm for King Crab of the Philippines.
