The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Siocon, led by CENR Officer Rey A. Jalandoni, participated in a coastal cleanup organized by the Local Government Unit of Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte, on July 17 at Barangay Poblacion, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
This event was in response to a recent flash flood in Baliguian, caused by the Southwest Monsoon, which left debris and waste on Barangay Poblacion’s coastlines.
Volunteers from various agencies and sectors worked together to clean the coastal area.
CENRO Jalandoni highlighted the need for joint efforts to address environmental issues and maintain coastal areas for community well-being. The partnership between CENRO Siocon and the LGU sets a model for future projects aimed at protecting and strengthening communities.
