CENRO Piñan, led by CENR Officer Adelaida R. Borja, participated in the nationwide simultaneous coastal clean-up on June 7, in observance of World Oceans Day with the theme “Awaken New Depths”. The event was held in barangay Sta. Cruz, Dapitan City, starting at 7 a.m. with a brief program.
A total of 140 individuals attended, including participants from CENRO Piñan, the Barangay Local Government Unit of Sta. Cruz, Dapitan City Local Government Unit, Philippine Coast Guard, PNP Maritime Group, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and Dapitan City Police Station.
Participants collected twenty sacks of non-biodegradable waste, weighing approximately 61 kilograms. The collected waste was handed over to the BLGU for proper disposal by the garbage collectors.
