Pagadian: CENRO Liloy releases rescued Tarsiers on Independence Day

CENRO Liloy, led by DMO-IV Heracleo M. Calasang, Jr., coordinated the release of a pair of tarsiers (π˜›π˜’π˜³π˜΄π˜ͺ𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘺𝘳π˜ͺ𝘀𝘩𝘡𝘒) in Kalawit Lake Conservation Area, Poblacion Kalawit, Zamboanga del Norte, during the Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 12 in Kalawit municipality, overseen by Mayor Salvador P. Antojado, Jr.

The release followed Mayor Antojado’s handover of the tarsiers on the same day. He rescued the tarsiers early in the morning of June 11 and ensured their well-being through a thorough evaluation by CENRO Personnel led DMO IV Calasang. “Three children caught the Tarsiers in my banana plantation and sold to me with the amount of 100 pesos,” the Mayor disclosed.

The male tarsier measured 13 cm in length and 8 cm in width, while the female tarsier measured 11 cm in length and 7 cm in width. CENRO personnel conducted a physical examination of the wildlife and confirmed the species’ stable health conditions.
