Forty (40) youth beneficiaries complete their 10-day life skills training under the JobStart Philippines Program implemented by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-9) in collaboration with the City Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

The formal graduation ceremony, graced by Mayor John Dalipe and DOLE-9 officials, was held at the KCC Mall activity center August 15 coinciding with the job fair organized by the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Zamboanga City in line with the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan August 12-17.

The youth beneficiaries have completed a 10-day life skills training program, that equipped them with the comprehensive soft skills necessary for planning their career pathways and effectively navigating the challenges of daily life and the workplace.

Each of the 40 completers received a certificate of completion for their successful participation in the program. They were also provided with a P4,000 allowance from DOLE for their 10-day life skills training, calculated at P400 per day.

The JobStart Philippines Program is a full-cycle employment facilitation program of DOLE designed to improve the employability of at-risk youth, aging 18 to 24 years old who are not in education, employment, or training but have reached at least the first year of high school or Grade 7.

Following the completion rites, the graduates had the opportunity to participate in screening interviews with partner employers present at the job fair, aimed at matching them with potential employers or guide them in deciding whether to pursue additional technical training and internships.
