The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Ramon Magsaysay, led by CENRO Dionisio B. Rago, partnered with the Office of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources of LGU Tukuran in the release of thirty-seven (37) newly hatched Olive Ridley turtles on June 25. The release took place at Brgy. Alindahaw, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur, marking the celebration of World Sea Turtle Day.

The marine turtle hatchlings were spotted near the residence of Mrs. Chavez, on the night of June 24. With the assistance of the appointed Bantay Dagat, the hatchlings were retrieved and transferred to a basin for safekeeping. After examination and verification, the marine turtle hatchlings were then released.

World Sea Turtle Day, celebrated annually on June 16, is dedicated to honoring and highlighting the importance of sea turtles to our marine ecosystems. This event underscores the commitment of both CENRO Ramon Magsaysay and LGU Tukuran to the conservation and protection of these marine creatures.
