Seventeen student scholars from Zamboanga del Sur embarked on an academic journey to Taiwan, as they were officially sent off under a prestigious scholarship program offered by Kun Shan University, Thursday morning, October 17. The scholarship provides these promising students with the opportunity to pursue higher education in various fields at one of Taiwan’s leading institutions.
The send-off ceremony, held in Pagadian City Airport, was attended by LPEC President Joseph Kim Yu and the scholars’ proud families. The air was filled with emotion as the scholars, tears in their eyes, embraced their parents for what would be the longest time away from home for many.
Governor Victor Yu commended the students for their hard work and showed his support by giving each of them P50,000 allowance for their expenses.
The scholarship recipients expressed their excitement and determination to make the most of this life-changing opportunity.
