Zamboanga del Sur – The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and the 1st Civil Military Operations Battalion (1CMOBn) participated in the Herbal Medicine Making activity of the Genuine People’s Agenda non-government organization at the Municipal Health Office of the Municipality of Dumingag on May 19, 2021.
The event, spearheaded by Dumingag Mayor Joan Pacalioga, Narcisa Basin, and Luz Enot, provided basic information for the remote communities on how to use herbal plants as medicine and home remedies for usual sickness such as headache, and fever.
The Army Troopers were led by SSgt. Gregorio Calunsag Jr. and SSgt. Hernando Hoqilla Jr.
This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
