November 09, 2020

In the past week, an increasing number of Persons Under Mandatory Quarantine (PUMQs) having both IgM (+) and IgG (+) results on COVID-19 Rapid Antibody Testing, latest of which was conducted today, November 09, 2020, was documented even after 21 day asymptomatic quarantine period. Presence of IgM on Rapid Antibody Testing of individuals denotes recent infection with SARS-COV-2, causative agent of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and thereby classifying them as presumptive cases for the disease. While IgG (+) result of individuals indicates past infection classifying them as presumptive recovered for COVID-19.

With this, most of the quarantined individuals at our designated Municipal Care and Containment Centers (MCCCs) will have their second week of quarantine extension starting November 10 until November 16, 2020. These PUMQs will have their repeat COVID-19 Rapid Antibody Testing on November 16, 2020 and will be subjected for physical assessment for possible clearance on November 17, 2020. These extended PUMQs arrived in the Municipality last October 19, 2020 from Surigao City and belong to the “ Balik Estudyante” Program of the Municipality of San Jose.

In addition, discharged patients and their hospital escorts coming from the Dinagat District Hospital, designated COVID-19 Provincial Referral Facility, are now mandated to undergo 14 day quarantine period upon their return in the Municipality.

Due to the above circumstances, our MCCCs are currently fully occupied and can not accommodate entry of incoming PUMQs for the Municipality of San Jose for quite some time regardless if they belong to our locally stranded individuals, returning overseas Filipinos and other sectors.

The Local Government Unit of San Jose shares the frustration of those who are affected by this circumstance and continue to appeal to the public’s understanding and patience. Be respectfully assured that the Local Government Unit of San Jose in coordination with other agencies are exerting all appropriate efforts in dealing with this matter with utmost concern and urgency and intend to achieve our common objectives in response to COVID-19 i.e. to contain its spread and to avoid its possible local transmission in our Municipality hence maintaining the health and security of every San Josenian. Together, as one community, we can accomplish greater things as we live new normal harmoniously guided by our quarantine protocol and minimum health standard against COVID-19.
