Now in Zamboanga City: Grab Trike, Grab Food

Zamboanga City makes history as the first city in Mindanao and the fourth city across the country to launch Grab Trike.

This, as Grab Philippines and the city government under the leadership of Mayor John Dalipe together with Majority Leader and District II Congressman Mannix Dalipe formally launched Friday, August 16, the GrabTrike and GrabFood delivery services in Zamboanga City.

“Este dia taki ya el solucion, taki ya el cambio, taki ya el promesa del administracion Dalipe –un realidad ya!” Mayor Dalipe declared as he described the event as a “milestone in our journey towards becoming a city that not only embraces innovation but also champions inclusivity and accessibility for all.”

“Taki ya el cambio ta espera quita, y ta pidi quita que ay llega un dia, nuay mas overcharging, nuay mas quien ay abusa y nuay mas quien ay queda victima [de overcharging],” the mayor added.

Grab Philippines Head of Operations CJ Lasican said Grab brings connection to visualization, a platform that can actually drive and uplift economic agenda of the city. “We are leveraging existing trikes in the city, we are giving livelihoods, supplemental income to many people – riders, drivers, restaurants and even the passengers.” “Very excited we are here and very happy to have continuous evolution and growth in the city,” she emphasized.

Cong. Dalipe for his part said together with Mayor Dalipe, he is exerting best efforts to help bring about progress and development in the city. “I am very happy that today it (promise) is now a reality. Acabao ya el tiempo donde un pasajero debe man purpiahan con el driver porcausa de overcharging –change is coming!” the solon declared.

More than 70 GrabTrikes are now operating in Zamboanga since the app was launched on July 16. The GrabFood app was launched on July 19 and now has 90 active merchants where customers can order from.
