(Legazpi City, February 5, 2025) The Dr. Lorenzo P. Ziga Memorial District Hospital (DLPZMDH), one of the Provincial Government of Albay (PGA)-managed hospitals, has received hospital beds and medical supplies from the Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines.
The foundation donated eighteen (18) hospital beds, sixteen (16) wheelchairs, twelve (12) commode chairs, and eight ( 8 ) walkers during a ceremonial turnover held on February 1, 2025, at the hospital’s conference room.
In her message during the formal turnover, Albay Acting Governor Baby Glenda Ong-Bongao expressed gratitude to the donors, emphasizing that these donations will greatly help the province enhance its facilities and healthcare services for Albayano patients.
“The donations of hospital beds, wheelchairs, commode chairs, and walkers will make our patients’ stay easier and more comfortable. These donations will help ease the worries of sick patients and provide them with the services they need for recovery, convalescence, and total healing,” Bongao said.
Furthermore, Bongao plans to share some of these donated medical supplies with the other two PGA-managed hospitals: the Manito Municipal Hospital (MMH) and the Pantao District Hospital (PDH).
“As per the donor’s wishes, we shall share some with other hospitals. Dr. Perillo, Ziga Chief-of-Hospital] chose Manito and Pantao to receive three hospital beds and three wheelchairs each,” Bongao added.
It can be recalled that the Albay Provincial Health Office (APHO) continues to conduct a series of cluster meetings with the eight PGA-managed hospitals to discuss issues and concerns that need immediate support to streamline healthcare services delivery in the province.
