The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) raised the alert level status of Mayon Volcano to Level 3.

A new mound of lava has formed at the top of Mayon Volcano’s crater, replacing the old one which had gradually collapsed and caused rocks to fall during the first week of June 2023. Over the past 24 hours, the monitoring system at Mayon Volcano Network has detected a total of 59 instances of rocks tumbling down, with a total of 579 rockfall events since June 1, 2023.  (Jv Navarro Verdeflor Jr.)
