The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Bicol spearheaded a transformative learning event titled, “Voice of Leadership: Elevating Public Speaking Skills of DENR V Managers” on June 13 to 14, 2024, at the DENR Regional Office V, Rawis, Legazpi City.

The two-day training aims to equip the key officials of the DENR with the skills necessary to communicate their ideas efficiently and clearly and empower them to become impactful speakers.

This training encourages trainee participation through individual sharing of public speaking experiences, issues, and concerns to optimize learning.

Dr. Irene R. Moral and Professor Rogelyn P. Samar from Bicol University served as Resource Speakers on topics such as exploring key communication skills as a speaker, preparing and organizing speeches effectively, conducting pronunciation and articulation drills, engaging in impromptu public speaking exercises, and providing question and answer evaluation and feedback.

The DENR Bicol headed by Regional Executive Director Francisco E. Milla, Jr. remains committed to nurturing the talents and skills of its key officials and employees. “Let our commitment to professional growth fuel our determination to keep improving what we have, knowing that every great speaker once stood where we stand today as constant learners,” he said.
