Iriga: PGEN MARBIL VISITS PRO 5 TO ENSURE ELECTION SECURITY

As the nation gears up for the National and Local Elections on May 12, 2025, PGEN ROMMEL FRANCISCO D MARBIL, CHIEF OF THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE (CPNP), visited Police Regional Office 5 (PRO 5) to assess its security preparations.

His visit highlighted the PNP’s proactive stance in ensuring that the electoral process is safe, secure, and free from violence or irregularities.

During the visit, PBGEN ANDRE P DIZON, RD, PRO 5, delivered a presentation outlining the region’s security measures and strategic plans aimed at ensuring peaceful, orderly, and credible elections. He assured PGEN MARBIL of PRO 5’s readiness and commitment to safeguard the election, with a heightened focus on preventing election-related violence and maintaining public safety.

PGEN MARBIL commended the efforts of PRO 5, recognizing their diligence in mapping out critical areas, enhancing police visibility, and establishing strong coordination with local government units and partner agencies. He underscored the importance of collaboration, intelligence monitoring, and rapid response capabilities to address any threats that may arise during the election period.

In his address, PGEN MARBIL emphasized the importance of remaining apolitical and executing their duties with the highest standard of professionalism and integrity. He reminded everyone that their collective efforts are crucial in making this year’s elections the safest and most transparent in recent history.

He also reiterated the PNP’s firm stance against any form of bias or political influence, stressing that law enforcement must remain steadfast in upholding the rule of law, regardless of political affiliations.

PGEN MARBIL further urged the police force to strengthen community engagement, intensify intelligence monitoring, and coordinate closely with local government units and other stakeholders to uphold secure and fair polls.
