(Legazpi City, February 27, 2025) The Provincial Government of Albay (PGA) will allocate P1.1 million pesos to implement the Academic Remediation, Acceleration, and Livelihood (ARAL) Project.
The funds will be used to provide high-dosage tutoring services for students, focusing on reading and mathematics through 24 structured tutorial sessions and free access to the Chalkboard Literacy Program.
This project will benefit six public elementary schools in the province, as identified by the DepEd Schools Division Office—Albay, based on the Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) and Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment (CRLA).
The beneficiary schools are: Cale Elementary School in Tiwi, San Andres Elementary School in Sto. Domingo, Libon East Elementary School in Libon, Guinobatan East Central School in Guinobatan, Camalig North Central School in Camalig, and Polangui South Central School in Polangui.
The PGA, through its Provincial Education Department (PED), will lead the program’s implementation in partnership with the DepEd SDO-Albay and Chalkboard Inc.
The ARAL Project aims to improve students’ foundational reading and mathematical competencies through structured tutorial interventions, focusing primarily on these two areas.
