The Local School Board of Iriga City convened its regular meeting on December 30, 2024, on the 2nd floor of MCM Restaurant. The session was led by Mayor Rex Oliva and focused on assessing the city’s educational accomplishments and planning for the coming year.
Among the highlights was the presentation of the year-end report detailing accomplishments and fund utilization for 2024. This report underscored the cityโs commitment to education and prudent financial management.
Key agenda items included the approval of the proposed Special Education Fund (SEF) budget for FY 2025, amounting to โฑ16 million, which was endorsed by Mayor Rex during the meeting.
The board also reviewed the Annual Procurement Plan of Iriga City Science High School for 2025 and discussed the implementation of the 2024 National Wellness Campus Program.
Additionally, preparations for the 19th Regional Alternative Learning System (ALS) Encampment, to be hosted by Iriga City, were outlined. The meeting concluded with a renewed focus on strengthening educational programs and fostering partnerships for the betterment of the cityโs youth.
