Fifty-seven scholars from the City Government of Iriga received financial assistance under the Iriga City Scholarship Program during a ceremonial awarding held on October 14, 2025, at the DTI-SSF, 2F ICT Building. The event was led by Executive Assistant Wilfredo Julio “Butchokoy” B. Oliva.
The recipients include a diverse group of talented and dedicated students—members of the folkloric dance troupe, the Iriga Saring Tinig choir, band members, student-athletes, and academic scholars. Each scholar received an educational allowance as part of the city’s continuing efforts to support young Irigueños in their academic and personal development.
Established through Ordinance No. 2024-40, the Iriga City Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to underprivileged yet deserving students enrolled in various schools. It stands as a key initiative of the city government to help young individuals pursue their education while nurturing their talents, skills, and leadership potential.
This program reflects the City Government’s strong commitment to education, cultural growth, and youth empowerment—ensuring that every promising Irigueño has the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the city’s future.
