The City Government of Iriga, headed by Mayor Rex C. Oliva, through the City Agriculture Office led by Mr. Argay B. Ramirez and Coconut Coordinator Mr. Mark Stephen M. Sadang, spearheaded the distribution of coconut seedlings last June 11, 2025 at the CDRRMO Multi-Purpose Covered Court.
This initiative was made possible in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, led by Governor LRay Villafuerte and Congressman Migz Villafuerte, along with the Philippine Coconut Authority represented by Mr. Hermes R. Aguila, Acting Senior Agriculturist.
For the first batch, six barangays benefited from the distribution: Sto. Domingo, Santa Elena, Santiago, Del Rosario, La Anunciacion, and La Medalla. A total of 12,000 coconut seedlings have been distributed, and the program aims to revitalize local coconut farming and promote sustainable agricultural growth in the city.
This distribution reflects the strong commitment of the City Government to support farmers and enhance Iriga’s agricultural productivity through collaborative efforts with national agencies and the provincial government
