The air quality in the cities of Tabaco and Ligao in Albay province has slightly deteriorated, according to monitoring conducted by the Enviornmental Management Bureau Bicol in areas surrounding the rumbling Mayon Volcano.
Monitoring equipment in Tabaco and Ligao recorded a slight increase in sulfur dioxide (SO2) levels on Thursday, following an eruption the day before, during which Mayon released hot clouds of ash and debris into the atmosphere.
