Iriga: DSWD Bicol Region DROMIC Response Report on the Combined Effects of Tropical Cyclones “Kristine” and “Leon”

As of November 10, 2024, DSWD has provided PHP 418,244,767.76 in humanitarian aid to communities and displaced families across the region. This aid includes Family Food Packs (FFPs), gallons and six-liter bottles of drinking water, family water filtration kits for safe drinking, sacks of rice from the Department of Agriculture, modular and family tents, essential non-food relief items, financial assistance, and hot meals for stranded passengers at various regional ports.

The storm has affected 788,024 families, totaling 3,319,107 individuals, across six provinces in the region. Of these, 7,086 families, or 31,741 individuals, remain displaced and are currently taking shelter in 147 open evacuation centers.

An additional 9,696 families, or 38,547 individuals, are either staying with relatives or displaced outside of these centers.

DSWD Bicol currently has over PHP 144 million in relief stockpiles and standby funds ready for immediate deployment. These resources are available at regional warehouses and prepositioning sites to ensure a prompt response.

The Field Office, under the leadership of Regional Director Norman Laurio, continues its relief operations in close coordination with local governments to ensure timely support to those in need.
