Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bicol Regional Director Virgilio C. Eduarte will share insights and milestones in sustainable infrastructure projects in the region in the upcoming pilot episode of Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on Tuesday, May 28, at the DPWH Region 5 Multipurpose Hall, here.
RD Eduarte will highlight the recent infrastructural focus of the national government called “3-in-1” projects where the State’s engineering and construction arm will provide additional roads, with flood control components and sports lanes in various parts of the region.
RD Eduarte will also elaborate on the rehabilitation and maintenance of 103.77-kilometer- national bridges and roads built under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. This also includes the 1,483.70 linear meters of bridges constructed to strengthen transportation and economy in the regions.
The DPWH chief in Bicol will also provide updates and ongoing inputs on infrastructure projects related to health, education, and agriculture.
Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas is a platform that will be launched by the Presidential Communications Office, through the Philippine Information Agency (PIA). It aims to communicate government programs, services, projects, policies, and priority thrusts of the invited national government agency or department.
This is also to fulfill Pres. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive for all departments to promote their activities and operations across all regions, highlighting a government in action.
For its first episode, the featured agency will be the DPWH. All directors of every region are expected to report their achievements, including their priority projects.
At 10:00 am, the BP Kapihan in the Bicol region will be live-streamed via the PIA Bicol Region Facebook Page and cross-posted to all FB pages of PIA provinces, other government agencies, and social media platforms of other key stakeholders. It will also be broadcast at the Ugnayan sa PIA Bicol radio program via DWZR 828 kHz.
