The Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on September 30, 2025 at Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Iriga City to reaffirm its commitment to the city’s adolescent health program.
DOH Bicol CHD OIC Regional Director Dr. Rosa Maria B. Rempillo signed the MOU entitled “Institutionalizing the Adolescent Health and Development through Information and Service Delivery Network (ISDN) of Iriga City”. This solidified the DOH Bicol CHD’s role in supporting the ISDN – providing technical assistance, linking DOH-retained hospitals and other providers, and supporting its advocacy initiatives and demand generation strategies.
The ISDN aims to improve the health and social well-being of adolescents by addressing the roots of the key priorities for the provision of information and service delivery.
Through the collaborative efforts of its key stakeholders, the ISDN seeks to establish Adolescent Friendly Health Facilities, strengthen information drives and capacity-building for health workers, and enact a local legislation on sexual reproductive health.
Present in the signing were Iriga Mayor Hon. Wilfredo Rex C. Oliva, Iriga Vice Mayor Hon. Edsel S. Dimaiwat, and Iriga City Councilor Hon. JM A. Grimaldo.
Other parties include Ms. Joyce Dela Paz-Hilvano, Regional Director of the Commission on Population and Development Region V, Dr. Nestor F. Santiago Jr., Hospital Director of the Sta. Maria Josefa Hospital Foundation Inc., and the different representatives of government agencies and organizations. (DOH5/MDUB)
