Iriga: DOH Bicol CHD hosts the 3rd National Health Sector Meeting (NHSM)

The Department of Health (DOH) through its Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD) conducts the 3rd National Health Sector Meeting on June 4-7, 2024 in Legazpi City.

Secretary of Health Teodoro J. Herbosa lead the first day of the NHSM putting emphasis to how important health transformation is through integration of innovative delivery systems despite the department’s notable achievement in the last two years.

“…we can transform the health sector into a health system that is capable of providing the necessary health services to the people without financial hardship,” he said.

Dr. Rodolfo Antonio Albornoz, OIC Director IV expressed his gratitude to the health sectors and health partners for visiting Bicol region and called for a unified embodiment of the Oragon traits of the Bicolanos.

“…as we cascade and operationalize our action plans for our eight ( priority health outcomes and primary care programs, let us carry out these traits [passionate, strong & resilient] through echoing the Oragon mantra,” Dr. Albornoz said in his speech.

The first day featured panel & breakout discussions on updates of innovative service delivery platforms such as Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Centers (BUCAS) and the PuroKalusugan.

Breakout groups were able to develop integrated implementation plans to operationalize the eight (priority health outcomes for 2024-2028 through operationalizing these service delivery platforms.

The event convened Executive Committee members, Heads of Attached agencies, Directors of DOH Bureaus, Centers for Health Development, Medical Center Chiefs, Chiefs of Hospitals and Treatment and Rehabilitation Centers, other National Government Units, Health partners, Civil Society Organizations, Academe and Development partners.
