Iriga: DOH Bicol CHD deploys 8 Doctors to the Barrio to LGUs

The Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD) deployed an additional eight Doctors to the Barrio (DTTB) to the different Rural Health Units in the region on July 5, 2024.

DOH Bicol CHD OIC-Regional Director Dr. Rodolfo Antonio Albornoz together with Strategic Management for Health Facility Development Divsion Head Dr. Angela Maria Rempillo expressed their optimism towards the enhancement of healthcare in the local level through the additional DTTBs.

The recipient LGUs are as follows (1 DTTB assigned per LGU):
Bacacay, Albay
Mercedes, Camarines Norte
Nabua, Camarines Sur
Panganiban, Catanduanes
San Andres, Catanduanes
San Pascual, Masbate
Gubat, Sorsogon
Santa Magdalena, Sorsogon

The DTTB Program of the DOH aims to address the healthcare inaccessibility in rural areas through the deployment of doctors capable of working in primary care and public health.

The municipal mayors and their representatives signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the DOH Bicol and expressed their gratitude for the support to the local health workforce, especially in improving the health system in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas within their community.
