Iriga: DMW and PLGU CamSur award livelihood assistance to OFW returnees

Under the Livelihood Program for OFW Reintegration (LPOR) and Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo para sa mga OFW na Nangangailangan (AKSYON) Fund, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (Camsur Peso) of the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, awarded livelihood assistance to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) returnees from CamSur last June 6, 2024, at the Digital Transformation Center, Capitol Complex, Cadlan, Pili. Gov Luigi Villafuerte and Congressman Lray Villafuerte, along with DMW RO V, OIC-RD, Atty. Jeena Paclibar-Laceda led the payout.

Maryjoe Malota, one of the recipients of the program, decided to return to the Philippines after working in Saudi Arabia for more than 4 years due to an unfavorable working experience. She received a total of P40,000 from LPOR and AKSYON funds.

“Sobrang thankful po, sobrang salamat dahil po sa kanila, nakapagsimula po ako muli dito,” said Malota, extending her gratitude to the DMW and the Provincial Governent for working together to give them the help they needed. According to her, she will be using the amount she received for her eatery and the piggery she’s starting up.

The Provincial Government is consistently working with various national government agencies to provide the people of Camarines Sur with the programs, projects and assistance that they need.
