A delegation from Convoy of Hope Philippines, composed of 12 volunteer donors who actively support community development initiatives through funding and special projects, recently conducted a meaningful visit to Iriga City to deepen partnerships and immerse themselves in local communities.

The visiting group included 11 donors from Christ’s Church of the Valley in Arizona, USA, namely Anthony Caudle, Nate Boyd, Angelique Dorman, Benjamin Dorman, Emma Dorman, Jamie Haus, Scott Haus, Jenise Neill, Nolan Neill, Mary Sandy, Silviu Stanciu, and Heather Cwynar. They were joined by Convoy of Hope Philippines National Director Raul Manuel and key staff member Stanley Yu, representing the organization’s headquarters.

The visit marked a significant collaboration between international humanitarian partners and the City Government of Iriga City, under the leadership of City Mayor Wilfredo Rex C. Oliva. The delegation was formally received by City Vice Mayor Edsel S. Dimaiwat, City Administrator Maharlika Ramon C. Oaferina, and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, including Councilors Jor-El Caayao, Melnan Murallo-Asanza, Dandreb Abonite, Nikki Lagrimas, and Jessie Abonite.

As part of their immersion, the group visited Barangays San Rafael and Sagrada, where they engaged directly with beneficiaries, local health workers, and community leaders. In coordination with the City Health Office, the activity focused on strengthening ongoing feeding programs aimed at improving child nutrition, particularly among underserved and Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities.

Beyond observation, the donors actively participated in community activities, assisting in feeding programs and interacting with children through Bible storytelling, worship songs, and group games. These efforts reflected a holistic approach to development—nurturing not only physical health but also the emotional and spiritual well-being of the children.

The visit also underscored ongoing efforts to expand essential services to underserved communities, reinforcing Iriga City’s strong commitment to advancing child health, nutrition, and overall well-being through collaborative partnerships.

Organizers emphasized that the purpose of the visit was to provide donors with a comprehensive understanding of on-the-ground programs while reaffirming a shared mission of service and compassion.

The City Government of Iriga expressed its gratitude to Convoy of Hope Philippines and its partners for their continued support and dedication to uplifting communities.
