In a significant step towards fostering healthier work environment, thirty-seven National Government Agencies (NGAs) in Bicol received sphygmomanometers and dial-type weighing scales from the Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD) during the Regional Launching of the Healthy Workplace Program on August 16, 2024, at Hotel St. Ellis.

This initiative aims to promote regular health monitoring and wellness practices within government offices, ensuring that employees remain healthy, productive, and well-supported.
The DOH Bicol CHD aims to expand this initiative to 49 agencies across the region, upon the completion of FITool 1 (Letter of Commitment) and FITool 2 (Self-Assessment Tool). These tools are designed to demonstrate the agencies’ commitment to implementing the Healthy Workplace Program. They include background information, assessments in the 7 Priority Areas and the 5 Action Areas, as well as interpretations of responses and corresponding recommendations.

In addition, similar health equipment has been allocated and delivered to local government units (LGUs) based on the number of Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) under their jurisdiction.

DOH Bicol remains dedicated to implementing the Healthy Workplace Program throughout the region, ensuring that all offices and employees benefit from enhanced health and wellness practices.

With the upcoming FITool assessment updates scheduled for September, DOH Bicol remains committed to driving the Healthy Workplace Program forward, ensuring that every office in the region becomes a model of health and wellness.
