Iriga City became a hub of opportunity on November 19 as the Arriba Job Fair 2025 drew over 700 eager jobseekers ready to explore employment options both locally and abroad. With more than 4,600 vacancies offered by participating companies and agencies, the fair stood out as one of the city’s largest employment initiatives this year.

The event featured a wide range of employers, including three international companies, 20 local businesses, and seven government agencies such as DMW, DOLE, OWWA, TESDA, PNP, PSA, SSS, NBI, and PESO Camarines Sur. Participants not only explored career opportunities but also accessed frontline services provided by these agencies.

City officials led by Mayor Rex C. Oliva, Vice Mayor Edsel S. Dimaiwat, and City Councilors Jor-El O. Caayao, Nikki C. Lagrimas, Dandreb N. Abonite, and Melnan R. Murallo-Asanza lent strong support to the event. Engr. Cynthia D. Audal formally acknowledged the participants, setting the tone for a day full of possibilities.

The program officially opened with remarks from Councilor Nikki Lagrimas, Chair of the Committee on Livelihood, Labor Opportunities, and Employment, followed by an inspiring message from Ms. Rodresha A. Torallo, PESO Manager of the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur. National agencies also shared words of encouragement, with Mr. Dennis L. Orfano representing DMW Region V and Ms. Melany Seva speaking for DOLE Region V, motivating jobseekers to pursue their goals with determination.

Vice Mayor Edsel reminded attendees to stay focused on their purpose, emphasizing that the drive to support their families should remain their greatest motivation.

Mayor Oliva captivated the crowd with a mix of inspiration and practical advice. He thanked DOLE, PESO CamSur, DMW, and all contributing agencies for making the event possible. He shared tips for job applications, highlighted available LGU services for jobseekers, and stressed the importance of core workplace values. Quoting Peter Parker from Spider-Man, he reminded participants, “With great power comes great responsibilities.” He also encouraged applicants to embrace his ARA principle — Authority, Responsibility, Accountability — as they move forward in their careers.

The day ended on an uplifting note as Mayor Oliva extended his best wishes to all attendees: “Good luck to all jobseekers.” With opportunities spanning thousands of job openings and a supportive atmosphere, the Arriba Job Fair 2025 truly opened doors for the workforce of Iriga City.
