The Provincial Government of Albay (PGA) is intensifying its efforts against African Swine Fever (ASF) through its participation in the African Swine Fever Preparedness Tabletop Exercises (APTTX) held at Hotel Sentro, Legazpi City.
The five-day seminar is spearheaded by the Department of AgricultureāBureau of Animal Industry (DA-BAI) with support from the Albay Veterinary Office (AVO).
The activity aims to enhance the preparedness and awareness of local government units (LGUs) and stakeholders in responding to possible ASF outbreaks.
Discussions and presentations during the exercises focus on prevention measures, reporting protocols, and response coordination to control the spread of the highly contagious animal disease.
LGUs may also request logistical support and resource materials from the DA-BAI to strengthen their local ASF response plans.
The training began on October 13 and will run until October 17, 2025.
