The 15th SPA – Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Albay has expressed support for the proposed food-for-work program of LGU Manito for fisherfolk during calamities.
This came through the approval of Municipal Ordinance No. 05-2025, which allocates funds for the program during disasters and emergencies.
According to 3rd District Board Member Brayan P. Arandia, Chairperson of the Committee on Crisis and Emergency Management, the program seeks to provide relief assistance to affected families.
The initiative specifically targets registered fisherfolk in Manito, acknowledging their vulnerability in coastal communities.
