Ibinida ng Pamahalaang Lokal ng Albay ang zero-casualty formula at pre-emptive measures nito sa pagtugon sa mga sakuna at emerhensiya.
Kasunod ito ng pagbisita ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary at NDRRMC Vice-Chairperson of the Disaster Preparedness Committee, Juanito Victor “Jonvic” C. Remulla nitong araw ng Huwebes.
Ayon kay Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO) OIC Roderick Mendoza, bukod sa ginawang display ng mga land at water assests na ginagamit sa pagresponde ng bawat LGU, bahagi rin ng learning visit ang presentasyon ng mga zero-casualty formula at iba pang inisyatibo ng mga lokal na pamahalaan katulad ng pre-emptive evacuation sa panahon ng kalamidad.
Tugon naman ni Remulla, bahagi ng maaaring makuhang best practices ng Albay ang pre-emptive evacuation measure na makatutulong upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng lahat bago pa man ang inaasahang mga panganib at sakuna.
“You’ll be a laboratory and we will promote kung ano ang ginagawa dito, ang ginagawa naman ng Albay is number one, the number one virtue of your disaster response is commitment. The local leaders are very committed in disaster response, that is what we have to teach, pre-emptive kayo sa lahat ng ginagawa— there is the commitment to disaster resiliency,” saad ni Remulla.
