In an interview, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) Head Maria Vivien Cea has revealed that the Provincial Government of Albay (PGA) has allocated a 1.5 million pesos budget solely for the centenarian incentives program in the province.

With the current budget for centenarians this year, the PSWDO Head has shared that each centenarian will receive 50 thousand pesos if they reach and accomplish documentary requirements.

Based on the submitted application in the database of the local social welfare offices, there are already a total of nineteen (19) recorded centenarians from month of January to December.

“It means kung 19 hopefully makarating sila ng 100, we have remaining 10, depende yan kung makapagsubmit sila, number 1 maka-reach sila ng 100 years kasi ang target nyan hanggang December, ang magbibirthday ng hanggang December diba? Dec 31, so we have 19, aside from magbibirthday ay dapat maisubmit din sa amin yung mga documentary requirements”, Cea added.

As of this month, PSWDO has already awarded nine (9) centenarian beneficiaries of their incentives.

Cea was also quick to clarify that said incentives are different from the cash assistance given by the national government.
