A total of 3,177 senior citizen beneficiaries received their social pension for the first quarter of 2026, covering the months of January to March, through a three-day payout activity facilitated by the local government.
The initiative was carried out by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Iriga under the leadership of Mayor Rex Oliva, in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) headed by Ms. Maridel Verrosa, RSW.
The social pension serves as vital support for senior citizens, particularly those who are indigent, helping them address daily expenses and basic needs amid rising costs of living.
The city government reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the elderly sector, recognizing their contributions and ensuring that programs aimed at their well-being are continuously implemented.
